Slave cylinder help

I recently removed the slave cylinder on my 98' Hawk to get to the front sprocket but after replacing it I realized that when I apply the clutch the bike wont be in neutral and I cant switch gears. I'm not sure what I messed up and I don't want to be randomly messing with it to try to fix it so if anyone has a solution I'd appreciate the help thanks

Release the slave bleeder located on top of the slave from fluid pressure! That should fix it. You may need to bleed the system as well

Bleed the clutch, all should be fine.

Good opportunity to get that old fluid out of the system anyway.

+1, you should do it every 3 years at the minimum anyway, these systems get sucked in about 3% moisture a year depending on the environment you live in and the system conditions, thus your hydraulic systems also need regular maintenance to insure that it operates with no failure.
