The RR

I am having trouble with my speedometer. It stopped working today, then started again during my ride. I searched the forums and saw several posts regarding checking the RR or R/R; however, I am stumped as to what this means . I have been working on my own bikes for years, but this is a new one.

Thanks

The reference is to check the voltage on the regulator/rectifier to make sure it is still operating correctly. You'll need a voltmeter to do so.

Thanks. I will check it out in the manual. Everything seems to be working great on the bike...

It sounds like the R/R fails periodically...?

The OEM r/r is reputed to fail pretty frequently. I replaced mine with an Electrex (now Electrosport) r/r. Some people do NOT recommend this company, but I've never had a problem with their product.

I believe other r/r's from other bikes will fit, and should be a lot cheaper to purchase.

Thx Randy.

Check the speedo' plastic drive nut in the front sprocket cover. Hopefully that is wearing out (they do) since they are only a few bucks.

It's electrical if the dash (clock, trip) resets.
