Recalls?

I was having a discussion a while back with another rider (non-VTR rider) and the topic of recalls came up. He's a Suzuki guy and I commented that I think they have too many recalls and I wouldn't buy one because of that. He fought back with some bogus claims about VTR's coming with steering stabilizers from the factory, I think he was confused between a VTR and a TLS. Anyway, I mentioned that I've not seen a single recall on my 1998 since I bought it new. I know of a couple of Tech Bulletins 1) the carb vent hoses and 2) water pump weapage. I don't count those because they are not very serious problems for the majority of bikes. I can't speak for the later years though, which brings me to my question. Has there been any recalls at all for the VTR's? Anyone know of an online source for this info?

Thanks!

No recalls that I know of. I have a 2002. Definitely heard the TLS or TLR had serious issues with running wide and stabilzers were the only way to fix.

Re: Recalls?

you can search the NHTSA website for recalls, motorcycles included. I looked up 1998 and my 2002 and teh SH wasn't mentioned... 2002 CBR1100xx was listed with brake issues.

No recalls is a good thing...
glad I don't have a CBR1100xx with brake issues, brakes are good to have now and then.

The TLR's also had a recall which replaced the crankshafts. A crank is a fairly new technology for an engine, so it's understandable that Suzuki had trouble. I'll keep my Honda thanks.

Everytime we see that girl she's on her back. That didn't sound right did it? I don't know how smooth her curves are. Did it again didn't I?

Re: Recalls?

In the emortal words of Bart simpson........Bones heal, Chicks dig scares, pain is temporary, but Glory is Forever!!!

Just make sure that there are hot chicks around to see you crash, then it is ok......lol....If I go down, I wanna know that someone else see's it so I can talk about it with them later...." That was badass dude, you were like end over end" or something like that....lol.....

There are two types of motorcyclist....Those that have Crashed, and those that are gonna crash.... 8)

Loco
We stopped seeing each other after the third crash. Good girl, but she really went head over heels for me and it really put a dent in our love life.
