PIVOTLESS

Almost nothing came up in search about the vtr's frame design. Has anyone gone more technical about the advantages of this configuration? Obviously it saves a little weight and provides more flex for road riding. It was also used in the 929 and 954 blades. Some say the 954 was the best blade ever, others that it's flawed by instability problems and the pivotless frame maybe had something to do with it. Would the vtr be beter with a normal frame? Who knows.....

The VTR has a pivot for the rear swingarm.
Are you refering to the frame not connected to the swingarm pivot area?

Makes changing an endless chain a sync though...

Technically " "Semi-Pivotless frame" meant that engine was a stressed member with the swingarm bolted directly to the engine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_VTR1000F

Raced versions of tuned VTRs (135bhp) had the frame extended to bolster up the swing arm pivot.

the more I look at my storm, the more i think Hinda "borrowed a few ideas from John Britten and the awesome V-1000.....

very very similar in many respects...
