There are too many variables. The peak HP numbers only vary by about 3-5%.

Look more at the nature of the torque curve and the improvement to it from rejetting.

True, but my dyno guy did runs WOT in one gear instead of shifting. I think that's a std practice, but IMHO we loose a lot of valuable data about power related to shifting that way:(

That's what happened to me - ran out of power around 5k on test ride, so the seller dropped the price. Trailered home, rejetted, and problem solved.

If he (your dyno guy) was making a run to check your jetting all that needed is one gear. The carbs work the same in 2nd gear as they do in 5th gear. If he is making a normal dyno run he better use all the gears.
