oil cooler line leaking at the oil pan...
Is there any reason the clutch side oil cooler line would leak at the oil pan other than a bad fitting o ring or damage to the oil pan? Ive replaced the o ring to no avail the fitting looks ok and it appears to be holding tight and straight but when i start the bike a solid stream of oil pours out... I know theres a pressure relief valve there in the pan and dont know if that could cause this...

The pressure relief valve should only open if the oil cooler is clogged somehow.
Did you get the o-ring you installed from Honda or somewhere else? About the only thing that could make it leak would be the wrong size o-ring or one that is damaged. Though it is possible to have some kind of crud on the sealing surface that might cause the problem if it keeps the o-ring from seating, so you might want to check that also. |
I did not get it from honda I got it from my o ringring kit and it is the wrong size o ring it's thickness is a millimeter less than it should be... ordered one hopefully it solves the problem...
|
I would bet that is the problem then as it is a high pressure system. ;)

That's the problem with most of those o-ring kits is if you find the right diameter the thinkness is wrong or vice versa.

best thing to do,is try to cross reference the different bikes that use the same size o-ring and go to bike shops and ask them if they have oem o-rings for those bikes.some shops have stock for other bikes with the same size parts. i did that for the bushings on the hawk, theres alot of bikes that use the same exact part, just a different bag. |
