K&N vs Fabbed Intake

Ok guys,

So I'm new to the bike scene, I've spent many a dollar on car parts and having things fabbed for me and I wanted to get some input.

I'm the part owner of a forum like this one, (not saying the name, No spam here) and I have a fabrication sponsor that does amazing work.

I took them the bike to see what we could do thats crazy, and unique. After taking off the tank and looking at the airbox, I was sure there was some way we could get air in there more efficiently. After letting the mad scientists take a look they were sure they could fab an intake not much different from a ram air set up for a car. And looking further into it after many hours on the computer and the only full exhaust sytem I can find is from a company I can't pronounce, that they can make me a titanium exhaust from the manifold to the aftermarket Jardine cans I have now.

The input I would like to get from you guys is:

1. Would I benefit more just from putting in a K&N air filter?

2. Should I not trust fabrication and buy the acrapovic (spelling) full exhaust kit?

I am all about "custom," but I don't want to sacrafice power.

Ready.......

GO.

Edit: Forgot to mention its an 05 Superhawk

Im building an aluminum airbox for my 98.

Most everyone advises AGAINST messing with the airbox, but I dont listen.

Will the filter still be in the same place as the stock airbox? I would love to see pictures or hear your ideas on how it's going to be different. Feel free to jack this thread with your ideas.

Im trading the squatty wide airbox for a tell narrow one. the airbox will actually be a negative space in my gastank im building.

The demensions are about 5.5 inches wide, 13 inches from front to back, and as tall as the stock gastank.

the filter will be on the very top.

the reasoning for this is im moving the fuel downward. lowering the center of gravity.
