K&N filter block off missing

This is a feature that came with my bike when I bought it and I noticed it a while ago when doing maintenance. (FTMS pointed it out then and I'm just now searching for the replacement parts, sorry). Can I order replacement blocks or can I make something for these? Any input or suggestions appreciated. Didn't find anything using the search. I don't wanna run longer than I have without them in.

The motor is drawing in unfiltered air without the block off. It also may tend to make the bike run lean. I don't see a good solution aside from another block off, a stock filter or a BMC air filter, neither of which require block offs. There's a risk that an improvised solution will get sucked into the carburettors if it comes loose. You'd also have to be sure that air can be drawn from the blocked off area into the space in the carburettors above the diaphragms.

I just found the same thing I'm trying to get K&N to send me some new ones. they don't seem to have a standard system for shiping them but I'm going to keep buging them till they ship some out. anything thats not pernatly attached you shoudl know will one day go missing and you need to sell spares. so I'll let you know what ends up happending. but it's good to know the BMC filtter doesn't need them thats a good back up.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll start bugging them to. Maybe a light will click over there. The blocks seal open areas on the bottom of the air box that allow unfiltered air to enter. Probably add about 10 hp to.

Mine were missing too when I got my bike. Didn't any of the origenal owners look before they installed a K & N. I switched back to a stock air filter and it runs 10X better. It was very lean with out the plugs.

Karri is awesome, I sent her pictures of mine after giving her a call and her reply was, "they'll be in the mail". Talk about great service and not a penny out of pocket. Hope I get them before the 10th for the big NH ride.
