Angry Issues with my 1998 Superhawk not accelerating while in gear

So I have a 1998 Superhawk I inherited from my dad when he passed away. It had a couple issues I addressed (stator, rectifier, and battery). But, while riding on two separate occasions, I was riding and all of a sudden the bike wouldn't accelerate while twisting the throttle and in gear. Today I took off in first gear and it seemed like it was jumping and hesitating. I shifted to second gear and all it would do is rev with no acceleration. I am not sure what it could be. Please help.

going by your last line the clutch plates are goosed, try bleeding it and if that doesnt help you need new plates.

Fabiostar, I bled the slave cylinder again, even though the clutch lever had pressure on it. As I tried to bleed it, the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder as if it did not want to bleed the fluid. I had to loosen the bolt for the hose connection at the master cylinder and the back of the slave cylinder. I finally got fluid down to the bleeder valve. I rode the bike for an hour and no issue occurred. With the slave cylinder not bleeding easily, could I possibly need a new slave cylinder or master cylinder?

might not do any harm to buy a rebuild kit they are cheap. the clutches on these bikes can be a pain to bleed at the best of times, i always end up reverse bleeding them from the bottom, seems to work much better.

You need to remove that slave and thoroughly clean it, and the master cylinder. They get a nasty gel type goop if not routinely bled. I posted pics on here many moons ago. I'll see if I can find them.
