Intergarated Brake Light
Intergarated Brake Light
Ok. I just got my X3 Racing integrated brake light in, so I said what the heck, I'll go install it now. So I take the rear cowl off, disconnect the brake light connectors (2) and the signal light connectors (2 sets of 2). The new tail light has 1 connector for the brake light, So I played with that and figured out the left one on the bike works for the new light. Now for the blinkers. The new light has 2 wires for the blinkers. I cannot figure out how to make both blinkers work. I can get 1 to work, but not the other. I started to get frustrated to I called it quits for today. Has anyone installed one of these and know the trick? I can use all the help you can give. Thanks a bunch
It didn't come with any instructions. I got it from X3 Racing Store on Ebay, and it said its for the 98-03 Superhawk. I will try to email the company and see what they say.
The two blinker wires out of the integrater are probably the hot leads, so you will abandon the ground leads for the stock blinkers and the unit will use the stop/tail ground for everything. Just use a test light to sort the hot/ground leads for the blinkers and you're set. I used a different brand of integrated taillight, but the setup sounds similar.
Yep, thats exactly how it is. I think I may leave the fast blinking signals. It catches my attention pretty well. And now I can chop that ugly shovel off and clean up the undertail!
