headlight lens replacement...

I managed to destroy the headlight lens. Removing the left behind sticky from vinyl used to cover it during track days. I use a 3M adhesive remover that I have used several times with good results. This time either the adhesive remover or the vinyl adhesive as reacted with the plastic.

I'm looking at replacing the lens if possible. Otherwise, I guess I will be looking for a complete headlight assy. pm's are welcomed

I don't think you can get just the lense. You're best bet will probably be to get on ebay and see what you can find for a new headlight.

I suspect it to be the best solution too. Just thought I'd throw out a line for other possibles.

I'll check when I get home if I have my old one... what kind of quality do you need it in?

Presume you've determined this is beyond recovery with a headlight restoration kit?? Sorry if it's a dumb question, but some kits include several grades of sandpaper so it might be worth a try for $20.

BeerHunter is an unknown quantity at this point
The lens is not available as a separate item, but I have removed the lens from the unit before in order to clean the inside (bought a used unit that had been stored without the bub in place). It is a PainInThe@ss.ToDo though.... takes too much time.

Have you considered using a headlight restoration kit?

Now I see Cranken beat me to the question.

I'm going to stare at it some more tonight. Like the old movie "Christine" I would really like to see it repair itself. It really burns me up when I break or otherwise destroy a part. I am going to try and polish this headlight. I have a couple of offers from folks on the forum for replacement units.
