Guage swap continues

So here is the problem. I swapped to the 2nd gen fuel sensor in the tank. The problem is that the guage only registers the top 3 bars on the dash, so full reads full but empty is only 3 bars down and there is at least 10 bars.

Anyone have knowledge about this? Is tweety who I should be asking?

Need help quick!

Well... I saw your PM... But I had to work...

Well, the sensor is actualy reading a resitance that changes as the arm moves, so the problem is that the range of the sensor and the display doesn't match...

Since it's an aftermarket one, it's a possibility that it's configurable, ie a dipswitch or **** to turn and adjust the range, or even a software setting...

If that fails, you will need to swap the sensor to a matching one, since you cant really "trick it", if you add an inline resistance you just move the span, so then empty is empty, but full is half, or around that... It works, as a last resort, but not great...
