Driving lights
 

As the weather warms up here night riding is very much on the agenda.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good set up.

I am not looking to upgrade the headlight, more for some discreet driving lights that give good vision on the open road at night.

I use Clearwater lights https://www.clearwaterlights.com/ on the Adventure Bike and some of the Sport bike owners I work with like them as well. Just installed a set of Darla's on a 2013 Street Triple R last month...
, same guy has a 2010 Tiger 1050 with Krista 2 lights .. Loves them both

Pricy ...but very high quality.
Ive also tried the cheap ebay LED lights..on a DRZ440 SM build, They are what they are, low quality but they do put out light....I spent an hour modifying the designed mount to get something that was steady ...the way the cheap light was designed to mount wiggled from the get go, and would have fallen apart in sort order

I installed twin 50w halogens a dozen or more years ago but the way I mounted them is what I'm sharing. I want to replace the lights themselves with LED units but have not found any as small, light weight or with a beam comparable to the halogens that will adapt easily to my mounting tubes, and have evaluated many including the Clearwater offerings and am still searching.

Im not seeing the issue?? Most any of the lights I have installed (more than a dozen brands or models) would install using the mount you have, or a slight adaptation.
Waiting for a Direct bolt replacement light onto a custom mount you made for what is a non industry standard fitment...might be a long wait.

Every light I found was either too big and/or too heavy and Clevis system they used was not adaptable to the very compact slotted tube with a single through-bolt that I have which is right into the nostril of the fairing everything else hangs down too far or projects out too far and was not adaptable to date

I have nothing against halogen lights.

I wonder if LEDs are really that much better.

The pictures of your bracket schematics is a bit blurry but I get the idea.

Great stuff! Now all I have to do is source the lights, switch gear and relay.

Check out these incandescent DL which use a standard H2 bulb but IMO are too heavy to cantilever out the fairing nostrils without a secondary support for the strut...

LED draw much less amps which the VTR with only 280 watt output is amperage challenged (see my other posts regarding what can be run simultaneously) are smaller, lighter and depending on the diode put out an incredible amount of white light.

I'm considering several but it's how the attach / mount that to me is critical.
