CCT symptoms

With all the talk I hear about CCT's here I would like to ask if there are any symptoms of chain slack before it's too late?

Noise, either a tac tac tac tac or rattle however you want to describe it. My front one got noisy when the engine warmed up so until I can get some manual adjusters I've put small stoppers in the existing tensioners. Although some have had tensioners fail without any warning. If your tensioners are getting on a bit then either put manuals on or new automatic ones and treat them like a service item. Putting the stoppers in the automatic ones stops the tensioner retracting if the spring fails gives some piece of mind.
