I'm trying to pull the carbs on my 1999 Superhawk, and they feel like they are set in concrete! I tried to pry them up using long pry bars against the frame, and the metal pieces holding the carbs together. Nothing moves except the whole bike!
Also, when I pulled the air filter, I found a device that attached to the vents on the carbs (see photos). I can't find any info on Google. Anybody know what this is?
Thanks!
Heating up the boots so they become flexible is often required. Using a heatgun is pretty common.
I use boiling water on old polyvinyl hoses that has been clamped to barbed fittings where i work, It heats without scorching or drying the hose further.
I suspect it would work on carb boots as well, taking precautions that it doesn't get inside the motor.
