I have used F4i calipers but you can also use 929/954/RC51 with very little modding. Just need to grind alittle on the caliper to make it fit. I must say that the above all have different sized pistons in the calipers. You will need to get the matching Mastercylinder or a larger one of your choice to allow for fluid movement for the larger pistons in the calipers.

Pic 1 is of the grinding needed to make it fit.

Pic 2 is the comparison of F4i on left and Shawk on right.

Pic 3 is the finished product.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. Any of the calipers I mentioned have larger pads which equals more surface area on the rotor.

Ummm. Ahhh. Firstly, let me say 'thanks' for all the info on GSXR 6 pot calipers fitting our bikes. Thank you. Now, the good, bad?, news: ebay item # 270079474926.
Go ahead, take a look, I'll wait.
Yeah, I'm the buyer. Am I happy or what? Well, I haven't gotten them yet, but the photo looks good and we shall see.

well, ya'll say they work well with the stock m/c and I have braided lines, Goodridge small diameter race hoses, so I'll see. it's hard to spend too much what with the wife, cats, cannondales, wife's YZF, etc.

well ****** FU@#er I've been looking on flea-bay for a month straight the last pair I bid on I quit at 110$ they sold for 152$!!!! so the f4i calipers have bigger pistons and pads so they end up stopping better??? these go for much cheaper maybee I could afford the master cyl. too. what about rc51 calipers?

Quote from auction:
"Up for bid is a HONDA VTR 1000 99 FRONT BRAKE ASSEMBLY & BRADIED LINES ASSEMBLY. The Mastercylinder is off a VTR 1000 or RC 51 But it has aftermarket Braided Break Lines & GSXR 1000 Tokico Calipers with the pads still in great shape. This is a hot set up for all the VTR 1000's."

Allright! Who's the lurker? :-)
