Backlighting for the instrument cluster/ guages not working

I noticed today that none of the backlighting for the instrument cluster is working. All gauges work and all other lights work (i.e. oil pressure, neutral, high beam, sidestand, fuel reserve, turn signals). I checked the fuses and looked at the back of the cluster for a loose wire. Checked the connectors. Wiggled everything around to check for broken/ loose wiring.

I've searched the forums, searched the service manual, looked at the wiring diagram. Can't find anything helpful.

Can anyone help?

Did this all just go out at the same time where everything was lit up and working yesterday? Or did it never work and you just noticed? Starting with the obvious, did you inspect/swap any of the bulbs for new ones?

While you're at it have a look at this. Electricity is not my specialty but definitely is for some much smarter forum members than myself.

It was working on Monday and suddenly stopped working on tuesday. All bulbs went out at the same time so it's gotta be a common issue, not a specific bulb. I was thinking ground issue but all wiring connections look good.

It seems I may have overloaded the circuit. I don't know what the fan circuit has to do with the illumination lights but I mounted a secondary fan and tapped into the fan power wire to provide power to the second fan. Somehow this caused every one of the backlighting bulbs to go out.

The ground for the temp gauge, fuel level sensor, fan switch (most likely where the problem is) and the illumination on the guages are shared, I think. As always, just guessing.
