Anyone TIG Weld Aluminum & want to help with a Superhawk project?
Hey guys... I'm at a stand still with my thermostat delete because of "lack of budget". I'm at the point where i have the concept down, but cannot get the welding done for the project.
There is still a bit of r&d to do, but i am very close.
The idea is to use the spare thermostat housing i have, and cut off the barb spigots (aluminum), then mate them together with aluminum tubing to form a "coolant rail", as recommended by Roger Ditchfield.
The materials are 3/4" aluminum spigots, and 1" aluminum spigots, welded to some aluminum tubing, in a way that mates everything together.
The spigots are thin, and cannot be done with a MIG, and i do not have free access to a TIG.
If anyone wants to help me take this on, please pm me. I'd like to FaceTime someone, show them my ideas using my bike, and send some materials to thrm for fab work. Shouldn't be too hard for a good TIG welder...
