air adjustment screw tool
Motion Pro Bit D shaped for use with 08-0229 90 degree tool (SKU 08-0242)
this might be the thing to use on my flexible shaft screw driver to adjust the D shaped air screw. Screwdriver Set 22 in 1 Flexible Duragear - Amazon.com |
You can try it but in my experience, there is not much free room in there. I have this and it barely makes it (but does the job)
I have a flexible shaft screwdriver but it just couldnt quite do it. Anger didnt help. |

Its a flathead but its no problem reaching in with a little dremmel wheel to cut a slot into that oh-so-soft metal (of the screw) so it works great.

I gotta do some merge work to do on my 2 into 1, then i'll be using this tool. thanks again |
Yep, the $130 Honda specialty tool is pretty much the only one that will work with the carbs still installed (and mixture screws NOT slotted).

Worth the purchase? $100 vs $23? Seems economicly undesireable. Took me like 5 min to slot the screws. I will stick with $23 & use the $77 spare bucks for Christmas presents.

Yeah but I didn't have to pull the carbs to do it AND I can slap it on there any time and tweak them without hassle!

Unfortunately there is no easy access. I use the more expensive Motion Pro screwdriver and that is a struggle. Especially on the rear cylinder.Motion Pro 90-Degree 1/4" Hex Driver- Tool Time- Motorcycle Tools
In an ideal world I would like some fuel screws with a twirled knob that I can turn by hand. I have found some for quite a few for other bikes, mainly HD's and 2strokes, but not the VTR CARBURETOR - FUEL SCREWS - Zip-Ty Racing Products Relavent thread here https://www.superhawkforum.com/forums/general-discussion-30/carb-mixture-thumb-screw-28832/#post338413 I will find out what the thread pitch is one day and maybe get some made up. I am constantly tweaking and playing with the carbs and not having easy access to the A/F adjustment frustrates me. (:-}) |
