98 VTR1000 engine reinstallation general questions
Hello all, I have recently acquired a partially taken apart 98 Vtr1000 non CA emissions. When I recieved this bike the carburetors were already removed.
Long story short an engine replacement had to be performed. I had a few questions in regards to locations of some hoses and where they end.
For starters i have a hose coming off a 90° nipple near the water pump is located. Where does this hose terminate? Does it vent to atmosphere?
Next challenge is the x2 reed valve nipples. My old engine only had one and the front cylinder was blocked off from factory. The new one has x2 reed valves with nipples. I want to retain both reed valves with nipples for better crankcase ventilation. Their location is the smaller of the two nipple on the valve covers. Where do these hoses terminate?
Also I need verification of where the hose on the lower thermostat housing terminates, the water pump upper left hose, rear cylinder coolant block with nipple terminates.
I have purchased the missing PAIR valve that seems to be apart of the factory system. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you.
