1998 super hawk weird startup/ warm up noises

Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and to owning a superhawk so want to start off by saying this forum is the reason I decided to go with this bike. Very helpful so thank you.

ok, so I've attached 2 videos to describe the sound, it backfired in this video but usually it's a metal clanking noise (more noticeable in video 2) right under the gas tank that happens 2-3 times and affects the rpm. Is this carb farting?

2nd video picked up the sound a little better. It only does this when I first start the bike

Update. I synched the carbs! I was making my tool and had to wait for the rubber stoppers and brass adapter (what a pain in the ***) to come in the mail (damn corona) but it's done now and seems to be an improvement. I'll update when I'm able to do a cold start.

Can't get your vid to load, but, when you start it, see if pulling in the clutch makes a difference.

I started it up just now when I got home from work and it wouldnt start without the choke being pulled out but after that it it runs good. Is that normal for these bikes? I think it's better than before the balance

Well yes, that is the purpose of the choke, cold motor starting by enriching the starter circuit.

If its starts great without choke, the pilot circuit is too rich
