Re: '03 Vibration Problem

does that happens only when you ride bike or also when it is stationary and revved to same rpms too?
If answer is - when ride only - it does sound like problem is not with engine-caused vibrations but with something about bearings in front wheel, or possibly warped brake disk or head bearings etc. - I mean rolling chassis rather than engine.

Many things can add to the vibe you describe....

I will take you down my road...

I had a mini 'tank slapper' shimmy at speeds... when I let go of the bars... you can see it ( LEFT-RIGHT ect) but very fast and short... as I slowed... the shimmy got slower and larger...

After this... I inspected my front rubber to see and feel bad cupping ( NASTY 207)

I bit the bullet and bought a matching 208 instead of masking the problem with a $500 Scotts damper.

Result.... silking smooth ride, no vibes and not numbing....

Some other things that add to this....

suspension setup may be too stiff... sounds odd.. but true... mine was set HARD when I picked it up and backed it off some which aided in smooth riding....

My setup ( 175 lbs)

3rd notch level on the front preload... 1 full turn from hard damping...

3rd notch from top on rear preload and 1 full turn from hard on damping

This gives me the best ride/handling without sacrificing comfort/performance for what I do...

Make sure you have the stock bar ends, not some lightweight aluminium ones. And make sure they're screwed in tightly.
