Textile jacket fit

I just recieved a new Joe Rocket Lightspeed textile jacket in size Large. It is snug. Not binding in any way but real snug. Will this material shrink a lot or stay about the same. If it is going to shrink any then I need to send it back and exchange for a XL.

It won't shrink at all. If anything it'll give a small amount over time.

Motorcycle gear is supposed to be *snug* otherwise it won't stay put when you're using it.

BTW: this goes doubly for helmets. If the lid doesn't fit tight then the speed differential that's taken up between when the helmet stops in when your head stops in the helmet as it takes up the gap... your brain won't even know you have a helmet on.

Thanks, I knew about the helmet. I have been riding off-road for 20+ years now and have always prefered a tight lid.

I thought that the jacket would be best in a tight fit also but I just did not want to come out of my first rainstorm with a jacket that was binding my reach.

I just bought a Phoenix 4.0 and luv it! but had to get an XL cuz fit is too tight with large even though I wear a large in most everything else....the jacket is heavy enough that it wont flap in the wind so get the one that is comfortable

Hmm, I have a Phoenix (3.0 I think) that I got on sale for $75 that is a medium and it fits me just about perfect when I have always been a large or XL before this one.

Just goes to show, test fit everything you can when buying gear.

That's good advise! Try it on if you can and that way you can support your local shop too

I rode yesterday and today with it. It feels good when riding.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I like to buy local also but have no good shops around anymore. Besides, I saved $200 getting on closeout.
