Euro spec Bell helmets in the USA?

I'm interested in getting a Euro spec Bell helmet. According to the sharp safety rating they are one of the best and I like their styling too. Unfortunately here in North America they know nothing about basing safety design on evidence and data thus I'd like to forgo the snell rating at all cost. I have not been successful in finding any retailer that sells the euro spec lids. Any advice? thanks!

What?? You don't like snell? I'm very scared of a heavy blunt railroad tie falling from 30 feet up and landing on the top of my lid... twice. Wouldn't leave home without being protected from it...

In seriousness, would e-bay work? That puts a lot of assumptions on fit, but if you know the one you want and your size, that could be an option.

ya have looked on ebay, but was hoping to buy from a domestic retailer that may carry or from a foreign retailer, jsut cause I'd want them to be super concerned about boxing and shipping. not sure if I want to risk it on an ebayer you konw...

To the best of my knowledge, Eurospec helmets are not DOT legal.

While I concur with your reasoning, this may be the unfortunate truth. Just look for a helmet that is only DOT not Snell.

my current helmet is ece22.05 and dot but not snell..... althought you are correct I can not confirm the dot standard for the euro bell helmets.... but i'm sure that a dot sticker can be had from ebay for a very small price
