Get back up and ride again as soon as you can. End of story.

Isn't about image, isn't about risk. Those who haven't ridden: can't understand, those who quit: have forgotten.

If you quit doing what you love so that you can live longer, then you are already dead.

You obviously know the risks better than most at this point. If you still want to ride, then do it. If you really could care less, then stop. F what everyone else said.

When I was 19 I helped load my 16 y/o friend into an ambulance at Southwick. My parents watched him crash. He never walked again.

My friends and I decided that the risk simply was not worth it and we all decided to quit racing that day. That week we visited our friend in the hospital and he told us that his years spent racing was worth the sacrafice and he wouldn't change a thing.

The following weekend we were in Claverack, NY to finish off the season. It's what we loved to do and nobody was going to decide for us if we should be racing or not. Same goes for you and riding.

I was offered almost any car I wanted to stop riding after my accident with the deer. I naturally declined.

Those that don't ride don't get it. I have asked every person that asked me if I would give up riding if they would give up <whatever they're passionate about>. Not a one said they would. Out of all my friends that visited me in the hospital, it was my one riding buddy that brought me a toy tron bike so that I could stop saying "I need to get a new bike." He's awesome!

I keep telling my family/friends that I won't stop riding, but I will always make sure I wear the gear for them. I would for me anyway, but it seems to ease them at least a little bit.

You know what they say about opinions. They're just like ass holes, everybody has one, and they all stink. I'm glad you're getting better. It's absolutley up to you if you ride again or not. Just don't let other's opinions decide for you. This is your decision.
