Racing a S-Hawk?

Are there any pro circuit people that race for Honda using a S-Hawk? I'm impressed with Jake on his #98, and I've heard of RC51s goin' at it but what about ours either in a pro or semi-pro level?

Jake came in second today! :P

Yes, but he was also in the 600cc class race I think, no? I'm pretty sure at PPIR there was a 600 class and #98 was there and he came in 2nd. I'm pretty sure he also races a Honda CBR 600RR.

In club racing you could do fairly well racing a Superhawk at the Novice and Amatuer ranks. Once you hit Expert and Pro the Superhawk just ain't cutting the mustard anymore. Hence why no-one races them.

A few guys spent major money to get em raceable at high levels, but overall not worth it.

Hahah. Well yes and no. With the introduction of the SV you did see Hawk GT's die out on the club scene.

However.. I started racing this past year on a HawkGT and beat the bag out of SV's all season My bike is still VERY competitive in the Expert ranks. wooha.

Having just done my first and second track days, I can now say that racing in 99.9999% rider and some infentisimal part bike, all the way up the the motoGP levels. Hayden or Rossi on my bike could probably take 95% of the riders out there. I am so humbled by those two days, by bike is sooo much better than I am...

I'd agree with that Barry but more like 85%-15%. There were some bikes in novice I had no right passing but there were always spots where thier bikes would make up for it and twist the grip and get away,(temporarily). Did you have a good time though? You'll get more confidence and with that more speed, don't worry about that. I think I've droped dropped about 25 seconds off my lap times from just going back and learning from the faster guys out there. I'm finnaly moving up to intermediate next time as I felt like an ahole passing everybody there. I was passing curtiously but I just felt out of place and I like to learn from people that are faster. I like to try and keep up and if I feel the pucker factor rise I slow down.
At times though I think it would be easier to go faster on a different bike but it's more fun passing bikes that I shouldn't be passing but I'll get humbled again when I move up.
Morale: Keep going you'll get faster.

Jake D is on a distinguished road
Zemke (and Duhamel) ride Superbike, but did ride the 600rr's in FX class at the Daytona 200. The only time all season to do so.
