Moto ST on speed. I am hooked!

I love it. Makes me wonder if Honda is sorry they don't currently have a sporting twin? I mean, the grand stands are empty, but I love the "grassroots" feel the racing has. I also like the classical music they play in the background. I know it is not nearly as exciting as Moto GP, but for the V twin lover in me, I am really excited by this new class. Theres even chicks racing SV 650's!

Many of the races are held in Daytona and Homestead FL... I am thinking about going to one sometime. Anybody local wanna ride out and meet up at a race?

Honda does have a sporting twin.

But I think the rules eliminate certain twins (eg, RC51, 999) to keep things interesting/competitive/less-expensive.

I wonder if we can set up a Superhawk MotoST team...

This series is run by nascar folks (no kidding). The top running Aprilia is partially sponsored by a friend of mine.

I know Honda "Has" a sporting twin, ya big scungilli-head! I thought it has to be a current model production bike to enter.

What is so "cheap" about a BMW, Ducati, or Aprilia that a RC-51 would cost more to run?

Believe it or not there was a Superhawk in the inaugural Moto ST race at Daytona a couple of years ago . I think he finished around 15th or so . I was just glad to see one out there !

No idea about current prod bikes, but that's probably likely.

By keeping horsepower numbers to a limit, that reduces the amount of money spent on trying to one-up the next guy. Otherwise, you could get ridiculous horsepower by throwing exorbitant sums of money at the bike.

Oh, and your mother's a whelk head.

The superchicken is eligible in the SST class... Unfortunately I have great big puddle of water in the way, so you guy's have to run the team... I'll be your biggest fan...

****, my bike has a LONG way to go before it would be competitive, as well as the rider being, ahem, a bit um, LARGER than most of the other guys I saw racing out there.

I am kinda built like Greg White from the old Two Wheel Tuesday. I remember Jason Pridmore and Nicky Hayden giving him some **** about his stature. It was funny, but I wouldn't subject myself to that.

I'm with you supermarto. I'm a big guy too (6' 235#). I think we'd be a great fit for the Superhawk racing team - real big, but man can we move.

Okay, so I am getting us a couple of sets of leathers emblazoned with "Portly Blokes Racing" on the back. Any preference for colors? And we better start buying tons of parts to use as seconds/spares...

Don't miss the Daytona 8 hrs race January 8th on Speed.

I went to the VIR round and it was really cool. Very laid back. And as was already mentioned, NASCAR is the owner so this could really go. Here's osmething to chew on, what if MJ gets feed up with AMA/factory Suzuki not getting the "A" stuff and fielded his pown Moto-St team------------NASCAR would run with that!!!!

Supermarto, get one of the leathers in Medium cuz I wanna be on the team!

Seriously, I live in Lithia South of Brandon and would be interested in going over to watch a Superchicken win a race

Just let me know when you're interested in going over and I'll work on my kitchen pass and we can meet up and ride over...Rick C.

Very cool, I am always down to hook up with anyone local on a Superchicken! My buddy who got me hooked has one, he lives in Lauderdale, and I know he would go to one if it was in Daytona or Homestead... I will keep an eye on the schedule for '08.

I watched the VIR round, it did seem laid back alright... I love how they raced at a "Motorsports Country Club"...
