What swingarm will work???

Hi all,

So I am in the last stages of modifying my bike. I have searched but have not come up with anything that points to a list of swingarms that can be fitted the easiest so I am throwing it out there for comments.

Any help would be appreciated from people who know what will bolt on, or fit with minimal conversion.

Cheers,
Paul

the only other i would do is the single side swing arm,or just brace the stock swing arm.

If you want easy also consider bracing the stock swingarm with a brace off a 900rr swingarm. If you search you'll find plenty of info regarding caliper clearance, etc.

Will a 954 Swingarm work? I've been eyeballing by buddy's swingarm and I think it might? Anyone know for sure?

You are just the third one this month to ask that question... So unfortunatley you get the reply that repeat questioneers get... SEARCH, and the answer will be apparent...

No, not without major modifications. The shock is offset from the centerline of pretty much all bikes. The problem is the CBR954 is on the opposite side from the VTR. That means you would need to do serious cuttnig and TIG welding of the CBR swingarm to make it work.

Plus, and I assume you are talking about a new/better swingarm, anything you find will be longer than the stock VTR part. The VTR already has a wheelbase that is longer than ideal from a performance standpoint and going longer will make matters worse. Any gains in stiffness, rigidity, etc. etc. would be negated by the performance decrease of the longer wheelbase. Sorry!

just brace it... if you have a drill press a cutoff saw and a tubing bender you can get aluminum tubing from the local hardware store and make your own brace.

you can make it look as fancy as you want, it will be your own creation, is very cheap and you will get the performance out of it that you would get from a swap...
