Interesting. I was wondering when someone would come out with these. I shoulda known Thurston would be the one. Though....I thought they would look more like the Moriwaki fins on the RC51.

Interesting.... God only knows the bike can use them (the latest issue of Sport Rider has a comparo involving the VFR and they note how the Hondas with side-mounted rads do not cool very well). I wish they had more pics of these fins/shrouds as they are hard to make out from the pic.

Cool idea but how is that gonna help my heat problem sitting in traffic on monday afternoon? I don't know if my bike is an exception to all the superhawk cooling issues but it runs at the same temperature when I am moving no matter what the outside air temp is.

Mine runs noticeably hotter on HOT (85+) days than it does on cool (55 or below) days. It also runs much hotter when being flogged (Canyons or Track) than just cruising down the highway(as you would expect).

I'm guessin you've got the original SH with the analog temp gauge. So do I. The needle in that gauge rarely moves from straight up/middle. I bought/installed a aftermarket digital temp gauge, it really shows you how inaccurate the stocker gauge is. The coolant temp can swing from 180F to 220F and the stock needle doesn't move. Since that is the "normal" range for the bike, I'm assuming that is by design from Honda....

lanesplit!
Stuck in trafffic/not moving, it won't help. To combat that particular problem, I wired up 2 175 CFM Pc fans ( like these ). They are small (about 120mmx120mmx38mm) and can be mounted on the left side radiator where they don't get too close to any vital/hot components. They don't move as much air as the stock fan on the right side, but since they run ALL the time, they help cool that left side rad alot, expecially when in slow moving traffic.
Only down side is that they are as loud if not louder than the stock fan, and I've got them running anytime the key is "on". They draw minimal current, since they are designed for 12V computer sytems, so you don't need to worry about overdrawing the electrical system.
