I want to rebuild the forks add new springs for my weight = can you powder coat the upper part with the right precautions

Sure, just know that the coating adds slightly to the overall diameter of the bodies and can make them a beaatch to get them back in the triple clamps without scratching them. The powder coat can also be a point of "flex" between the clamps and the fork tubes. Maybe due to the flexible nature of the coating itself. I found this out the hard (read expensive) way. I ended up taping off the clamping area on the next set. problem solved.

I have an idea for a CBR1000...I think you should sell me that one and forget about putting it back together....it's a lot of work really...
