MSR bottle under Sergent Seat

Yay new Superhawk! First tank of gas. Hit blinky reserve at 80 miles. Hmmm... Had a generic 20 oz Sigg bottle sitting on the counter. Popped it into the Seargent Seat. Seemes to fit perfectly. I believe they make a 20 oz MSR fuel bottle. Anyone ever try this before? I can snap a picture tomorrow.

Never tried it, but good idea. 80 miles huh, lol, you musta been having some fun! I usually get to 100 miles during spirited riding with lots of straight line in between.

I've still been meaning to do this. Just strap the bottles all over your bike!

Come pick up your nice comfty stock seat! and screen!

Hey Richard sounds like you are having fun on that bike if you are only getting 80 miles to the redlight! I could easily manage 110-120?

You need to do less wheelie's my friend?

Are you filling up to the brim? Also you can go 25-30 on reserve no problem.

As soon as my light goes on it runs out of gas. I seem to have no reserve. I like your idea. I'm gonna put a bottle under the seat

It works! You have to cut the carabiner ring off the top of the cap but then it JUST fits. 20oz of fuel just in case. And I'm successfully hitting reserve at 100 miles (with freeway riding) I guess that's good right? I havent bottomed the tank out and I hope not to. Anyone know how far you can go once you hit reserve?

Yes they have it on all years. My sensor doesn't work and I'm too cheap to replace it so I too am an odometer watcher. Below is a picture of where it is. Here is an article of how to check if your sensor is bad from this forum: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...el-light-7189/

I have an 02. It's technically not a red "light". It's the bottom bar on the LCD fuel gauge its marked "E" and it blinks when you get to reserve. Happy motoring.

On the last fuel bar, it will blink red when you hit what is known as the RLOD. Red Light of Death, or walking, whichever you prefer but death has a much more final ring to it.
