Honda VF 1000 Interceptor 1984 Clip-on handlebar

Hey, anyone try to fit a set of 84 VF 1000 bars? I found out they are 41mm like the Super Hawk but they look darn tall and te stop tab seems to be located in a different spot. I'm sure they will require some modification to the windscreen/fairing and I would guess longer brake line too. Anyother guesses?

Good thinking but VFR750/800 bars are about the highest you can go without trimming the upper fairing. With 750 bars, I had clearance issues with my engine stop switch due to (I think) a slightly bent upper fairing bracket. I pulled it out some to remedy the situation.

Those 1000 bars look to be too tall unless you don't mind trimming the uppers. Another possible idea: 1985/86 VF1000R bars. They were adjustable on two (?) axis (IIRC) so they may have enough lattitude to avoid clearance issues. They were expensive tho' and might be no longer available from Honda so used might not be cheap either.

FYI, the new VTEC bars (02-present) are 43mm and won't fit.

Danks Bling,

I wish I had never seen them on e-bay! I bid on them.... Like an idiot because I didn't want to loose the opportunity and now I am stick with the right and not the left! I'm trying to see if the winner of the other side wants it...but no luck yet!!!! Maybe that I will be stuck with a $20 paper weight! There are some 98 VFR bars on there too but they are getting too expensive for my blood. I guess I will go the route of the superbike bars....like you did!

superhawk22 is an unknown quantity at this point
You could always try to mount them under the triple. I dont know if that would defeat the purpose but if they're high enough and it clears the triple it might work.
