euro cdi

I bought my wife a 00 zx6r this year so i have been reading on there forms for curiosity sake and recently some one figured out the the euro cdi was different and it actually makes a big diff. guys are showing gains of around 8 to 10 horse. i was just wondering if the euro superhawks were more powerful because this might cross over to the hawk

Not that I know of. We get the European models over here, and there is no difference to my knowledge.

My 99 is also a Euro-spec Firestorm (in that exotic midnight blue which Canada got but the US didn't, and it just so happens that it's the fastest colour, sorry guys, lol ) and the engine horsepower is in line with what I see on US member bikes.

IN terms of the ZX-6, I read in the new model intros that the North American version is substantially weaker (and peaks at a lower rpm, "cause and effect"), soemthing to do with meeting emissions.

BTW James, from your list of mods, your VTR must be a pretty sweet runner (any dyno numbers for us?)

i threw down 121hp and 73flbs a couple of years ago. just putting it back together for the second time it was stolen last year lucky for me it had a bad reg so once the battery died they pushed it in the bushes. It was found 10 mins from my house. Insurance wrote it off and bought me out. They wrote it off for paint and a punched out ignition. I bought it back and went through the bike did some maint. got it painted put the new reg that was sitting on my kitchen table and had a bunch of cash left over from the right off. Now shes better than ever

jamesvtr : wow! That bike is gorgeous!! That color is awesome!

Honda: If you come out with a 08 1200cc superhawk in that color here in the USA I will sell my car and my current yellowhawk to buy it.
