CBR or aftermarket cam chain tensioner?

I read a CBR tensioner can be used and is much better but don't know what model. Also are there any aftermarket units that are affordable and good? No manual adjusting units please.

I just looked it up but if anyone else needs to know her it is:

92-99 CBR-900RR
95-02 CBR-600
All CB-900 (919 Hornet)

are you sure they are better? i gotta change out my cct's here in a bit and i'm sure the CBR one's will cost around the same. oh, and are they also called "tensioner lifters" by honda.

Do not want to dissapoint you guys, but practically ALL CB-series CCTs by Honda exactly same, only form of rod end differs. And - CBR600F4i and X11 and SuperBlackbird also have some percentage suffering from CCT issues. Just get ones with orange dot and change them every 30 000 km and you will be OK (unless you drive on overrunb all the time).

I heard they were better but they look to be the same style and I think better just means a later revision than what my 1998 model has. On my Kawi I've upgraded to a ratcheting type and its great! I wish Honda had a ratcheting type to fit.

Even though a shop should sell the updated CCT I wouldn't put it past them to sell you an NOS unit from 1998 so make sure you get the newer part number. I figure if you ask for two 05 919 units they have to give you the latest stuff.
