As many before me have done,, (yes I searched, found, and followed the lead of others) I added SS brakes lines front and rear, and three sets of EBC HH pads, some new DOT 5.1 fluid, and what a difference :P This SH was as stock as the day it was made.. including.. the brake fluid Argggggggggg,

For those that do not know.. Brake fluid is hydroscopic, meaning it absorbs water. Yes even in a sealed brake system,, moisture makes it's way into the fluid. Not only does it cause corrosion of the system components, but moisture in the fluid lowers the brake fluid boiling temp,, boiling fluid causes brake fade.

Change that fluid at least once a year for better results... Your system will last longer, and you will ensure you have the highest resistance to brake fade (as caused by over heated fluid) Always use fluid from a sealed bottle, buy small bottles, so you use what you need.. And have little left over. Then use a new bottle next time you change fluid.

DOT 5.1 is the latest and greatest fluid, that is fully compatible with systems made for DOT 3 or 4 fluids. 5.1 has a higher boiling point then either 3 or 4 DOT fluids,, right from the bottle. Making it a good item to add to your maintenance parts list. It can be a bit hard to find, but your better shops will have a few bottles on the shelf, or you can order it.

 

Get a new can.. Same as your brake system, though sealed.. As the temp changes,, you get condensation in the "sealed" system (can).

Buy some name brand DOT4, or one of a few brands of DOT 5.1 that has better specs then DOT4 (not all do, your looking for higher dry and more importantly, wet boiling point)
