Anyone ever use GenMar bar risers?

I've heard of Helibars to raise the bars but just recently, someone mentioned Gen Mar risers to me. Anyone had any experience with them? Are they any good?

I have been using the GenMar risers and mirror extenders for over a year. Both work great and are easilyinstalled. I had already installed braided lines so I had the extra length needed. Not sure how stock length will work.

I've been running the GenMar risers on my '98 for about 5 years now...they're great, well worth the $$$...had no problem with the stock brakelines before I went stainless...

Definitely a big difference. My right hand used to fall asleep after 20 miles of traffic. Not so much any more.

Soon as I have the cash, I'm going stainless brake lines and installing the VFR bars I just purchased.

...so my genmar risers will be for sale in the near future. 8)

So they would make you sit a little more upright on the VTR?

Sit up a bit and the bars angle outward a bit as well.

I put 'em on my VFR. Considering the price vs. other options (Helibars), simple bolt on installation, adequate ergo mod for my 6' frame, and long ride comfort I am completely satisfied. If you are short you may want to go with more rise such as the Helibars.

A plus for the genmars is you don't have to change the brake lines....just have to remove the screw on the triple clamp connection.

Let me think about it. Will get back to ya!

Thanks all for the great feedback on the risers! I was originally going to go with helibars but when I heard these were just a effective and less than half the cost it got my attention.

Genmars are good,I`ve used them in the past. I have helibars now and am doing the superbike bar mod this winter. Genmars give you 3/4'' rise, heli`s 1 1/2'' plus the angle of the clipon is a little different.(I think the #`s are right but I`m to lazy to check)

My understanding is that the Helibars also change the ANGLE and that is as important (to many) as the height.

I had the gen mar risers. Rode with em for about a year and ditched em for the Heli-bars.
Someone above said it, I'll agree with it. Heli-bars also change the ANGLE, not just the height.

They ARE alot cheaper than the Heli-bars.
Try the Gen-Mar, and if you don't like em, I'm sure someone will buy em and you get get the heli-bars. BTW, my heli-bars worked without any modifications to brake lines or throttle cables. The only downside to the heli-bars is that the headlight switch hits the fairing a full lock, so it turns your brights on when you do a full lock right turn...
