dont even mention tripageled.com i got my delay circuit from them for my HID. It toasted. After pulling their heat shrink off the circuit it was just a hobby kit that I had ruled out myself a few weeks prior.

LED chaser kits are cheap. Under 6 bucks.

Damnit now I want one, but with a radar detector right below it so its actually scanning something. :)

Here is a side to side chaser kit just like kitt for 15 US.

http://store.qkits.com/moreinfo.cfm/MK173

Very simple kit includes everything, you just need to solder.

Manual is very easy to read. http://store.qkits.com/moreinfo.cfm/manual_mk173.pdf

Supports 4-15 volts DC so even if your R/R is going bad it should work fine, lol

Won't the amprage from our batteries toast this thing if it's only rated for 20mA?

yruyur 05-08-2009 01:55 PM

I'm just a cave man, I don't understand these crazy terms

That one looks good but I would rather have it flash at the same frequency as the police cars to always give me green lights. :)

Ampere doesn't fry things... Not that way... But that thing would look ridiculously small and dinky on anything larger than a pocket bike...

It seemed like the only logical response. It's a good thing Honda did not engineer pussy.

inderocker 05-08-2009 09:22 PM

It would be nice to have a modulating, super bright LED in it's place... for day time visibility.

finepooch 05-09-2009 05:36 AM

i'm embarrassed for humanity that that even exists

rbrais 05-11-2009 11:13 AM

I just picked up a 4-light LED in red at Advance Auto Parts. 2pk for $11.22. Looks pretty good. They also had them in white.

swaptrex 05-15-2009 08:34 AM

I assume it would be illegal to put a blue led in that spot? I'm almost positive it would be, especially here in MI. Might just go with amber or bright white.

Do you have night pics.

Mine has a blue bulb in place of the original, Doesnt really emit that much light, but in traffic at night I think some people think Im a cop comming up behind them and move over.;)

On that note, maybe I design one with variable color LEDs, selectable at speed.
When you hit warp-9 on the highway ( above 130 ), the thing starts flashing blue and red, around town its a gentle white strobe. When signaling, it strobes yellow in the direction of signal.
maybe not.
maybe.

I can give you all a schematic of a pulser circuit that can be variable with a knob. A single IC ( the venerable 555 ) as its heart.
About 10 bucks in parts to build one, then use it to power your LEDs.
Maybe build a cheap kit that can be soldered together quick?
I thought of making a R/R kit that the users could hobby together, would be the same circuit as the factory made units. half price.
Should offer a bunch of motorcycle electronics kits for people who tinker.
hmm

Hell I'll buy a kit if you put it together. I'm sure there are plenty of guys who would also like to buy them pre-assembled too.

LoL, warp-9... I like that. I don't that would fly around here, cops are hungry because the state's so poor, so they'll pull you over for anything.

smokinjoe73 05-16-2009 12:49 AM

You can get those night rider LEDs for $20 & just mount them in

No, but I am planning on taking some soon. I'll get them posted when I do.

what windscreen did you actually use?

You gotta read the words and not just look at pictures. "custom windscreen" You need an explanation?

Would either of these be TOO BRIGHT FOR THE 5W INSTRUMENT LIGHTS??

What about replacement LED brake/running light bulbs? They call for 21/5w but what is the bulb ID? ie, 194 or such?

I can only speak as to the wled-xhp lamps: they're quite bright, very monochromatic and only have a forward facing minimal beam spread. The rear is 7743. I bought some off epay that had a buttload of cheap low watt leds. just get some from superbright like these:

Tried taking a few pics with my BlackBerry this morning in the garage, but the red LED's just looked white. I'll have to try taking some with my Nikon.

A sheet of tinted plexiglass ?
Easy to form.
Easier to cut out.

salmanilla2000 05-20-2009 11:16 AM

Sharkskinz uppers don't have the third eye slot and have Zero Gravity windscreens that fit (without the third eye slot).
