Track Skin Photos

Finally painted (spray can) my sharkskinz and tail for track days. So I just thought I'd post up some photos - Take note as to how much larger the air intake openings are as opposed to stock. You could probably fit a set of those mini round driving lights in there(hmmm.....)

One of these days I'll get a set of GSXR six pots & try them out - for now there are too many other projects in that garage

Looks awesome! I want to get that sharkskin lower fairing that mounts to the stock upper fairing one of these days.

Re: Track Skin Photos

That's not a Sharkskinz belly pan, its a Moriwaki, sold by Magical Racing in Japan or maybe, Big Valley Honda.

I think its a Sharkskinz upper.

Yes the upper is sharkskiz, the lower is from Magical Racing in Japan, the rear is stock from ebay ($30 cant beat it) I made a pice of black plastic to fit in the area where the tail light goes

The windscreen doesnt fit real well because its made for the stock upper not the sharkskinz but it will work for now.

The frame sliders do look like they would cause the moutning point to snap. Luckily so far I've not had any experience with having to use them.

The lower is nice, its also self containing in case the engine should grenade you wont spread oil all over the track - A requirement for CCS & WERA racing. Plus there is a rubber plug in the bottom should you need to empty any fluids that are in the lower.

Re: Track Skin Photos

So, were you saying that a windscreen for stock fairings won't fit in the Sharkskinz fairing? I crashed my bike, and was looking at getting the Sharkskinz one-piece upper, but I really like my ZG Double Bubble screen, and if it won't fit, I'll have to go with stock bodywork....

yes, the stock screen doesnt fit very well on the sharkskinz upper. You have to call zero gravity for the screen that fits the upper ($75)

So my Zero Gravity screen that I already have should fit okay, correct? Were the mounting holes already drilled on the Sharkskinz bodywork, or did you have to drill it when you got it?

If you have the windscreen that is made to fit the stock upper fairing, it will fit, it just doesnt fit correctly. (the area where the mirrors mount is raised which doesnt allow the windscreen to sit completely flush with the sharkskinz upper) Also, the windscreen that is made to fit the stock upper fairing has the cut out for the "running" light, which the sharkskinz doesnt have, so you have to cut a piece of plastic to cover the hole that will be there.

Hope this makes sense to you.

If you look closely at the 1st pic you will see the hole (that is covered with a piece of black plastic that is screwed into the windscreen) this is where the running light would go. Just below the word HONDA of the windscreen.

Re: Track Skin Photos

ahh....now I see. It all makes sense now. I think the misunderstanding comes from me being illiterate. I'm looking at the SharkSkinz STREET bodywork for my bike, which I believe is a little different. I'm going to call Sharkskinz tomorrow to verify, though...
Thanks for answering my questions, though...
