Angry SEM gun- anyone have one?

I just bought the SEM-brand 39767 "Problem Plastic Repair Material" and after reviewing the directions found that... I did not read the website well. I need the stupid $64 (plus shipping) gun to apply the stuff. Arrgh... my 'Hawk is waiting to have its fairing repaired in several place, 39767 package has been opened, but SEM rep tells me its extremely difficult to extract the stuff any other way. Anyone tried it? I'd hate to open it and find out that is true as well.

A new fairing is starting to look like a better choice now, unless... does anyone have a gun they'd trust me with for a loaner??? Pleeze? The SEM gun # is 70029 and its called the "Dual Mix applicator gun". Only other possibility is a body shop, but I rather doubt they would loan it out. I am located in Michigan, FWIW.

Boy am I PO'd.... at me for not catching this. And the VTR sits waiting for its rider...

Unhappy

Yeah, I tried that after I read your post. Local Fastenal in Grand Rapids had never even heard of SEM, nor did they have anything remotely like it. Looks like I'm going to have to buy one.

I think dealer cost on a new side faring is $120. You can probably get one for $150. Return the repair sludge, don't buy the $64 gun and save yourself a LOT of trouble.

There is always sharkskinz or other race fiberglass replacement bodywork. Needs paint but is a cheaper route.

Good luck Jim with finding something to repair your hawk. Did you search for a used panel on ebay?? That might be cheaper and less of a hassel.
