PIAA Superwhite

Insalled the PIAA Superwhite bulb on my hawk today. I found it nice I didn't have to take off the faring to do it, and was only moderately difficult. We'll see tonite if it look sssssuper cool or not.

Re: PIAA Superwhite

Wagner BP1210 h4, 80/100 low/high, $12 at Napa. Bright as F**k at a fraction of the price of the PIAA. Just my humble opinion. 'Course if that PIAA actually looks blue (instead of that crap blue tint I've seen on some other bulbs), more power to ya. The euro blue headlight look would look cool on a SH.

^ The 80/100 doesn't have any negative effects of using it instead of the regular 55/65 or whatever?

More heat, but since the bulb housing is open behind, I haven't had any negative effects with the heat not being dissapated enough. You also don't want to leave the headlight on when the bike isn't running (key in "on"), as it'll run down the battery faster. Other than that, I haven't had any problems in over a year, and around 5000+ miles with this setup.

Re: PIAA Superwhite

The PIAA looks good installed. Pretty easy to put in: no faring removal! Color is just plain white. It's noticable from the yellowish tint of the OEM bulb apparent on the "3rd eye" mini-light above the headlight by quite a bit.

I was wondering if this smaller bulb is replacable so the lights match-up. I tried to take it out of its housing -carefully- but it seems to be pretty in-there and I suspect it'll break if I used needle-nose pliars so it'll be a permanent removal.

Does PIAA make a Superwhite in this bulb size? What are the specs of it? On the bulb it says it's a 125V 5W bulb. What are my options? Is it an H2?

Re: PIAA Superwhite

I just went to an auotomotive store like autozone and found one.
Just look for a 125v 5w in the section with the noen lights for the importcars. i bought a pack of 2 blue bulbs for a couple bucks and it shines just like the white light. cant even tell its blue.
