Melted Flush Turn Signals

I installed some flush signals (I think they are EMGO?) last week. This morning while warming up the bike I noticed they were loose and tried to tighten them and they just pulled out stetching about 4" long . Maybe I should have hooked them up for two wire opperation?

They worked fine all along?

Sounds like something short curcuited inside.

Pics would be good.

They still work but I have them hooked up as running lights and turn signals. I guess they couldn't handle the heat of the lamp on all the time.

Was this a mod or were they designed as a running light model.

It's a three wire turn signal. On, flash & ground.

If I remember right the turn signal bulb is much brighter than the running light .
Sounds like you have the wires switched so that the turn signal is running all the time which made it too hot and melt.

Exactly what i was thinking. I did something similar when I put flush mounts on my F3.
