It is identified as a "Position Light" in the service manual. This bulb remains illuminated at all times when the ignition switch is in the "on" position.

Makes no difference to us riders here in the USA. However, Hawk/Storm riders in other parts of the world can turn-off the headlight (different switchgear) when running, so the Position Light would remain "on" whether or not the main headlight is "on" or "off".

 

good to know i have 8000 hid headlight and i wanted to take it out or mask it because it contrast with the hids
