GoPro HD2 Mounting.

Has anyone tried using the pedistal mount for the GoPro unit and mounting it in front of the 3rd eye? I noticed that there are 3 screws that mount it to the clip and was thinking about hard mounting it. Any bad vibes or anything?

I mounted mine on the right hand side of the fairing twoards the front with one of the curved mounts. It took a bit of time and different mounting configurations to come up with a level camera, but it's solid and takes great video. (Although I have the Hero HD not the new Hero HD "2"). I can take a pic of you are interested.

I didnt think about a side mount. I can see what you are talking about. I think tomorrow I am going to take the fairing off and see how thick the plastic is on the bottom of the 3rd eye and see if it is thick enough to keep from vibrating too bad. Those adhesive mounts are awesome. I cant belive how sticky they are!

I mounted mine to the solo seat cowl. I face it backwards so I can see what's it like to eat dust....lol

It looks sweet. I can upload pics too but I'm on my phone right now.

Upland111 id like to see some pictures too.

Here is my mounting option. I make sure all connections are t-i-g-h-t and I have had great video from this location. Hopefully these pics are not too big/small as first time with pic attachments. Enjoy

One recommendation; drill a tiny hole in the clear housing fin and run some safety wire. These cameras are not road proof.

Great Recommendation I have faith in the super sticky mount, but safety wiring the camera housing to the main mount is a excellent idea.

I tried a mount near the mirror with a stick on. Too much bounce. Today, I used a piece of half in black plastic cut to the shape of the third eye lens. That with a tripod mount from GoPro and longer screws and the camera has a solid mount.
