Feeler: Carbon Fiber Parts

Im thinking i might make up a carbon hugger, and maybe a front fender and seat cowl. i think a hugger would be about 150, or a fiberglass one for a lot cheaper. would there be any interest in these?

i still have carbon cowls sitting in my house. Apparently no one wants them. Not saying that you shouldn't put up a solid effort, but its tough business, and the supplies (even heavily discounted) are expensive

it is a lot of work and if it doesn't turn out, you will have about 40 bucks into each part in material that could very well just be tossed. I have a relationship with a carbon shop that will make the cowls off of my mold (because they said it is high enough in quality for production) for $150. They suggested that I mark up my parts significantly from that. I know, I know, that is not going to cut it for the economy. They make parts for ctsv, c6r, and other factory race cars.

well I would be interested in a carbon hugger. Personally I think it would be an awkward market to try to really make money in though

my point is that if you are going to do it, pay for the parts. If you do a single part, and there is already someone that makes it, it will be worth your time to buy that part from them. Sorry for shooting down the hopes and dreams, but it is the reality of overhead.

I would like a new hugger. The CF hugger I got now is about as thick as a piece of typing paper.
