Fairing / Windsheild Modifications

Just wondering what has been done with modifying windscreen or the faring to add a bigger windscreen.

I have a double-bubble from FlyNCycle (I have the same crappy fit like the other guys complain about) I also have a touring screen from Zero Gravity. But it looks like a touring screen, kind of gawky (maybe it is just me).

I am think about this in the context of performing the super-bike handlebar mod and would like to be able to Und Do my dirty deed (Modify the stock fairing). Or maybe it wouldn’t have to be done at all by doing something else.

I don’t know. I guess I’m just a little nervous about hacking my fairing then not liking what I’ve done.

I am just wondering if anybody else has thought about this at all. Or even better yet, actually done something they would like to share with us.

Re: Fairing / Windsheild Modifications

I was thinking more radical...like really modifying / replacing the whole faring with that of another bike. Or modifying the fairing to accept a different windscreen with the intent (either unintentional or intentional) of allowing a superbike handlebar modification for free movement without banging into the stock (uncut) fairing(see blings superbike bar mod).

I think in the end, I will just hack the fairing like bling did. I can't wait and don't think there is really anything out there in the frame of what I had in mind.

Thanks for the links though, I had not found these yet!

I love this forum! I hope it never goes away!

Oh yeah, BTW, I have the zero-gravity already but in clear. I wasn't sure how the smike or dark smoke would look so I played it safe. Kind of wish I gambled and got the dark smoke version. The darker windscreens on my yellow hawk tend to look better. But I guess, clear is always safe. Oh well!

This probably won't help you any since you have a 98 and thus I assume it's red but I'm going to sell my patented "long range kit" soon. The color is a super glossy jet black and consists of most of the bike's plastics except the center cowling, front fender, and those small inner items just in front of the rads.

Wow, that windshield looks pretty radical to me! If it had a "Memphis Shades" look where it went from smoke to clear on top it wouldn't look so extreme.

I'm pretty happy with the Zero Gravity db screen myself. The stock one is intollerable.

Wink Talking to me?

Yo Bling,

Talking to me about the 98?

Well, I've got a 2k Yellow. With a black screen. The black and yellow are pretty okay in my opinion plus.....everyone has red! :P I like th blue hawks, black is kinda okay too!

How much you want to unload your stuff for?
