cutting Zero Gravity windscreen?

cutting Zero Gravity windscreen?
So a buddy of mine got himself a superhawk, and his came with a zero gravity windscreen.. He didn't like how it looked on his bike so I purchased it off him and put it on mine. It does look a bit big on the bike, but the extra protection is nice.
However I am considering cutting it down a bit to not look quite so huge.
Has anyone done this? And if so, any tips?

Another tip for cutting plastics, I have an older Weller soldering gun with the screw on tips. I take off the soldering tip and replace it with a 'X-Acto" blade.
Tape off both sides of plastic and cut with heated blade.
I recommend practicing on an old plastic container first.

Yea good call, that thing's ugly...
I wouldn't cut it though. Too many things can go wrong
Ebay has alot of DB's but I've seen a scarce few of the stock ones too. Around $30. Pop the old one up on ebay and your out of pocket cost goes down (even if you're a shitty shipper, still probably worth it lol)

I bought my ZeroGravity back in 2000 from Parts Unlimited. This is what they sent me(photo). I didn't like the look of a Double Bubble. I'm not sure they make this anymore but I like it. It's a cross between a Touring and a Double Bubble.

That looks nice, and is about what I want. Parts Unlimited doesn't seem to have any SH windscreens anymore.

I bought one of these from Ebay. Relatively happy with it, not the ones from Hong Kong. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Winds...7515QQtcZphoto

I cut down my last windscreen using an angle grinder and a thin wheel. I marked where I wanted to cut and started. I used some fine sand paper to finish the cut. Not a big deal. That was on a stock windscreen so I wasnt worried about messing it up.

Thanks, like I said I bought from PU. I even tried to contact Zero Gravity and they only offer double or touring style. Not sure if this was a first version of a touring model or what? Anyway, I love it and it still looks good. I would be bummed if I couldn't find another one if I needed it. Suppose I would have to use a double bubble if couldn't. The touring just seems too tall with that lip. I would cut it down too. I'm sure you could use a dremel or high speed cut-off wheel. I would just tape it off and take my time. Then use a fine grit sandpaper to smooth the edge. Guess you gotta mod it if you want to get it just the way you want.
