Chicken's new look!
So, I finally got around to buying a full frontal Shark Skin. While I was waiting for it to come in I have been rebuilding her. New pistons/rings, valve job, coolant flush, replaced fork seals (small leakage) and brand new tires along with new gold calipers. Here's what I got so far:
Mounting the headlight was a bit of a pain, but once I got her in there, she's very sturdy. The only complaint that I have about the SharkSkinz is that there is not a place for the "pilot" light above the headlight. I'm far too impatient to create one that would look half decent, so I just pulled it. Too bad, too. I kinda liked that light. Oh, well.

Ohh mercy, I love me a fresh rear hide. Mmm mmm
Dude, great job on getting the headlight just right. I've seriously thought of doing that, but for one I don't know how I would mount the light, because in stock form it's mounted to the fairing, and two I don't know how I could cut the sharkskin to the shape of the light. I suppose a template would work, but I know I'd screw it up somehow.

Well, I dropped off the skinz at my paint guy a few days ago. He tells me it will be done before the weekend. We'll see. As soon as I get them in, I'll post some pics.

New Paint Job
My paint guy just sent me some pics of the tank and fairings. It's not quite done, yet. But it gives you a good idea of what I'm going for.
YES!! That is a "Red Wings" insignia. GO WINGS!!

It's actually stock 2003 SuperHawk blue. Candy Tahesian Blue, I think it's called. But Jay put about a billion layers of clear coat on it.
UPDATE: After finishing my tank, my paint guy accidentally dropped it!
Due to a recent incarceration (thanks, Fairfax County's Finest!) I'm not riding right now anyway. I told him to take his time. It should be done some time in December. He's been really busy and he's willing to make it up to me with another paint job on my other bike. So, I'll forgive him, I guess.

Finally DONE!!
I got the plastics back and have been working on her the last week. Also, I added a new windscreen and new anodized piazzo knock-offs. Looks pretty DAMN GOOD, IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF!!!
