Anyone have sharskinz street upper fairing?
I was thinking about buying a sharkshinz street upper fairing for my 2001 hawk. Was wondering if any of you guys had any input on how they fit and look. I actually only need a good condition front right fairing, but can't seem to find one cheap so i might as well buy a nice one. If any of you guys have a front right fairing for sale or any input on the sharkskinz I would appreciate it.
I have that fairing. the fit is good. no issues. and they are tough. I dropped the bike in a parkinglot at 5 mph and the left corner where it slopes up and back to the mirror took all the weight. it made a scuff about the size of a quarter. I was able to sand it right out when I painted it. you can't even tell. they are lighter, more flexible and in my opinion, more durable. don't worry about the internal ducts that route air to the radiators. you don't need them. my bike has never run hotter than the middle of the gauge. you do have to mount a brace to the fairing stay, but its not that hard. oh, and kiss that stupid 3rd eye headlight goodbye. the sharkskinz doesn't have a hole for it.
I have a sharkskinz fairing on my bike.Fit and finish are first class. There is a slight mod you have for the headlight mount (new brackets),but they come with the fairing. Had no issues at all with it...
I gave this fairing a jiffy lube paintjob, and tacked down some carbon fiber tape in strategic locations. A showbike she is not. she's a warhorse. but you can get an idea of the fit.
FYI, I just ordered my sharkskinz street upper from Kneedraggers.com
they were 1/2 price of shipping than from Sharkskinz themselves. and it was cheaper there also.
Sharkskinz shipping rate - $180. Kneedraggers - $90
