6 Spoke wheels, F3 Front/900RR Rear

Well as some of you guys know I bent my front wheel... After I looked more I found out my rear was bent and leaking air too... Well I decided to switch to 6 spoke wheels so I went with an F3 front and a 900RR rear wheel.... Everything lines right up with no problems... I kept my front brake rotors on, but used the rotor off the 900RR on the rear.(I was lazy)haha
I need to polish the lip on the rear one, the front was already half azz done....
Prolly do it this weekend....

I like them... I'm going to polish the lip on the back wheel and see if I like it.... if not I will get them powder coated... Maybe that translucent or candy powdercoating that looks anidized....

Shiny wheels are nice like bling. But I thought the black actually looked pretty hot.

Oh my.. another post in the cosmetic section...

I did the polished lips on my oem wheels before the conversion and liked them. Pesonally I think it would look good if you did the centers to match the paint.

I like it. The six spokers makeit look more agressive.

Am I correct in understanding that these two (F3 front, 900rr rear) are a DIRECT SWAP onto the Superhawk? I can use my existing rotors, calipers, rear sprocket, stock tire sizes, etc.? Do they need to be any specific years? Thanks in advance.

I used my factory spacers and rotors on the front wheel and used my factory sprocket and bushings on the rear.... Any F3 front wheel and any 900RR rear wheel.... And they are 17" so your tires will work...

The reason you don't use the 900RR front wheel is because it is a 16" wheel...

You can also use VFR front wheels as long as they're '97 or '98. As far as the F3 900rr what he said ^.

How much lighter are the new wheels? Can you feel the difference?

I swap out a spare 900RR wheel/tire on my VTR sometimes. I think the stock 3-spoke wheels are a little lighter actually. I've never weighed them, it's just the impression I've gotten.

VFR 94-97 (4th gen) for sure. 98-01 (5th gen) I'm not 100% on (I think those have a different brake rotor bolt pattern).

Looking around on ebay, the F2 wheels look to be VERY similar to the F3. If I remember correctly, werent the two bikes identical minus the body? Ive been looking around online but cant find anything to confirm or deny that the wheels are the same.

Dumb question re: the 900RR rear wheel - Can you use the stock cush drive and sprocket? Or do you HAVE to use the VTR set?

Hmm, Good question, I would think you could use either one because it's a direct fit for the VTR,(meaning if you can use the VTR one they should be the same measurements), so I would assume the parts would be the same. I'll do a little research on that.

Thanks! I picked up a 900RR on the cheap from eBay just yesterday, so I have not had time to check fit the sprocket (900RR) and chain.
