maybe $50.00 ( or $60.00 if you want the title :) ) + shipping http://www.pacifier.com/~trinc/frame.jpg tim |
I can do that. What I'm trying to avoid is this:
http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/P8270288.jpg which I just found on my bike. I'm making a fighter out of my bike anyway, so don't need the fairing stay mounts. Otherwise the frame is good? |
i didn't see whats under the coldweld... it could be exactly what you have.
i pulled the triple clamp so i'll see if i can see from inside the neck. tim |
ok cool, that'd help me out a lot!
|
sad to say it looks like it broke all the way through ( he just didn't loose it )
as you can see: http://www.pacifier.com/~trinc/frame_mount.jpg tim |
same as mine. I'm still tempted to take yours 'cause you've ridden for four years, and mine may have unseen cracks that I have to uncover, but I won't have those discovered for a little bit. Can I have like a day or two to decide before you send it?
|
I would take that frame to a competent welder, he will grind out all that nastiness, find good metal, tack in the tab where it belongs and fill the remainder.
You can wipe on some penetrating dye to check for other cracks or surface defects. Or buy an undamaged frame........ |
